Nproc
CAREERS AT NPROC

We are building the tool we always wanted, and we are looking for the engineer who wants to build it with us

TR-55 Inc. is looking for product development members to help us provide the best collaborative experience for any team. Our mission is to provide the best collaboration experience and support your team's activities.

We have worked on large-scale waterfall projects, and on startups and new business launches that ran from scratch in an agile way - some of them our own, some of them alongside our clients' teams.

We have run those projects on every kind of tool you would expect - spreadsheets and schedulers, issue trackers, databases, wikis, whiteboards. Most of them are good at what they set out to do, and we still use many of them. But each one covered its own part of the work, and the parts never quite met. What mattered kept falling into the gaps between them, and that is the part that never reached the work site.

Through launching our own business as well as being involved in other people's projects, we started to build a product that redefines collaboration based on what we actually experienced.

Meanwhile, new products keep appearing in this field, driven by open source and other technical change. The direction of those products is different from what we have in mind, which is why we are pushing this business forward. We are looking for people who want to take on that challenge with us, in a technology and market area that is very much alive.

OPEN ROLE

Senior Software Engineer

Nproc is a collaborative canvas. Documents, tables, and issues sit on it as windows you can place and open, so a team can keep its work in one shared space instead of scattered across tools.

It is not a design tool, and the canvas is not a blank sheet to draw on - it is a place to arrange work. Pen, laser, and arrows are there, but as annotation on top of the work rather than as the point of it. We built the drawing-first version once, on an off-the-shelf canvas engine, and threw it away. What replaced it is closer to a window system than to a whiteboard.

Nproc has gone through repeated architecture validation to balance UX, performance, and cost, and it leans heavily on CRDT for real-time editing - Yjs is not a sync transport bolted on the side, it is the state layer itself. Production infrastructure is deployed; we have not gone GA yet.

The product is expected to be released overseas, and we are building the architecture and the team with global deployment in mind. We are looking for people who are willing to take on technical problems that are hard to implement, and who will launch a global SaaS product originating from Japan with us.
